This year our plans changed due to the storms that are coming in. The central states are supposed to have ice storms and Minneapolis 10 inches of snow so we left 2 days earlier to get below the storm. Our whole goal to traveling south is to reduce Avery’s back pain and that doesn’t happen if your white knuckling it for three days as you travel almost the entire length of the U.S.
So what did our first day look like? Well, we woke up at 7am, got ready, packed the car, then stopped by our Chiropractor before leaving town. We did all this before 10:30am. Then it was getting onto the interstate heading south to Iowa. Now Iowa and Missouri have always been our trouble states for weather. Once we are clear of those states it easy traveling. Problem is it takes a day to get through each one of them.
At lunch we ate in the car while we took three business calls in the car and canceled any in person meeting we had for the rest of the week. Supper was a walk around the grocery store Hy-Vee and then a quick healthy meal so we can get checked in to our hotel in Quincy, IL.
